‘Black Keyes’ tomato is one of the varieties bred under the ‘Keyes’ series. Selected by Marianne Jones from an original cross made by Blane Horton* of Galactic Magic Seeds in Jackson, Mississippi, USA.
Extremely prolific, indeterminate tomato plant with regular leaf foliage offering high yields of small (0.4oz./12g), pear-shaped cherries with black shoulders graduating to very distinctive reddish-brown striped bottoms. Outstanding flavors make this variety as rewarding to look at as it is to eat. Occasionally, the fruits that are higher on the plant have a better flavor. Mid-to-late season, the first ripe fruits can be enjoyed 80-85 days after transplant with continuous production to the season’s end.

*Blane Horton describes this varietal as follows: “Just magically beautiful! One of the most gorgeous striped cherries I’ve ever had the pleasure to grow. Plants will take a while to gain some structure early on and then produce black striped fruits through mid to late season.“
